Attitude adjustment...

This time the attitude adjustment was for me and not my children.

I woke this morning to a child throwing up in the floor of her bedroom. My first thought was great I had yet another mess to clean, great I had more laundry to do, great I will have to stay home and not be able to go anywhere, and great I would have to take care of other family members if they were to get sick too. Later, as I was watching her sleep a thought occurred to me that no matter what I am doing Phil. 4:4 says "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again Rejoice!". Now my heart and thoughts were definitely not in the right place this morning, so that got me thinking about how in this situation I should be rejoicing and praising Him? So I spent a little time with God for an attitude adjustment.

So now my thoughts go something more like this....
I am thankful that God has given me a child that is healthy enough to fight off a virus that has attacked her little body, I am thankful that God has given my husband a job that supports my family and allows me to stay home to take care of her, and I am thankful that God has given me this day to rejoice in Him! I do love me some attitude adjustment and for a day that started out ugly has turned out to be a blessed day. May yours be blessed too!

Florida Trip & Random Things

I love those feet!

The girls love to play with any insect. They also love to bring them in the house to show me.

The girls like to ride with their daddy while he mows.
We celebrated a girls night of shopping and dinner for Julie's birthday!

One of my recent trash finds. The girls have no interest in it what so ever but I am hoping Grey will like it!

~FLORIDA TRIP ~

So the trip was really nice, no injuries or bed bugs! The weather was perfect, the hotel was like a resort, and we all had fun. Poor little Greyson took a spill off the hotel bed because he decided to start rolling over. Mommy of the year right here!! He is fine and just growing up too fast. It was also G's first time to the beach (Daytona Beach). Disney lasted a half day only...I do not see how people go in the summer. It was hot and we were so tired that after we came back to the hotel for food and naps we decided not to go back. We also decided that we would wait at least 5 years before we go back. I am serious about that!! It was fun but we plan to wait until they can actually remember. We are glad to be home but had a great time!

Oh the things they say...

WHAT WAS I THINKING...
So I attempt to take all three children to the store to buy mother's day card with not much success. Luckily Anthony is stopping on his way home to pick them up for me. I use to make cards but I am just too tired for that, maybe when I no longer have an infant. Anyway as we were leaving the store, with my very loud and hyper children at hand, Lula looks up at me and tells me that she is disappointed in me! She managed to say it loud enough for all the others standing in the card isle, which there were many, to turn and laugh or smile. As I load them in the van I thought to myself that I was disappointed in myself too for attempting to do that. AGAIN, WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!

THE POWER OF PRAYER....
The other day Lula came running into the room and asked me to go talk to daddy that he was "stretched out" and being mean. She asked me to go make him pray to not act that way toward her and make that mean face. I just laughed because she meant stressed out and I am glad that it wasn't me this time. Usually I am the one who they don't like, or don't want to be my friend, or tell me that I have lost my temperature (temper) and need to pray. Again just relieved that it was their dad and when I laughed she did not think it was funny one bit. It is amazing how these little ones pick up our mood, tone, and facial expressions. My daughter can impersonate me like no other which is not always a good thing. I pray daily that I am mindful of those little eyes but sometimes I just react. Maybe by the time they are grown I will get the hang of it.

TRASH TALK
Thankfully we live in a really nice area but what some of the neighbors think is trash boggles my mind. The other day I had Anthony stop so I could assess and pick out what I wanted. As I was walking back Lula asked her dad "why does mommy always take other peoples trash?" My husband just responded that sometimes people throw things out that aren't trash. Just two days before I had hit jack pot with my neighbors trash, a really nice basketball goal and a bike trailer. Well, I could not fit the bike trailer into the van but I really wanted it so I asked Lula if she would walk it back to the house while I followed beside her in the van. The bike trailer is one that converts to a stroller too. So we were about 8 houses away but she pushed it back and ran most of the way because she was trying to beat me. We laughed the whole time!

CENSUS
So I was cornered by the census woman today. They have been stalking us for awhile but we some how managed to miss them every time, which is fine by me, except for today!! I was unloading the kids and my Goodwill finds when she approached me. It will only take 10 minutes she says. I ask her could I just tell her how many live in my house and be done with it. She said mam it is the law! Well if she was trying to get on my good side starting off calling me Mam was not helping. So fine give me a minute and I will be right with her. She starts asking me questions like what was the gender of my spouse, does any one else live here that does not have a permanent residence and so forth. I did politely refuse to answer some questions but gave her enough information. Phoebe came in and asked the woman "what she was doing in her house and if she would come upstairs to play with her because her sister is mean?". The census woman did redeem herself slightly when she commented on how bright and pretty my porch furniture looked. If you saw a few posts back I just painted them because I was inspired with our trip to Maine.

Anyway just some rambling that I thought to share.
