Little Project

Before
After
So I decided to finally paint the cabinets to my master bath vanity and I am very pleased with the results. Sorry for all the clutter in the first picture. I also have the wood to frame the mirror but still need to cut and paint. Will show a pic of that later as well. There are a couple more paint projects that once finished I will post.

Also as soon as Anthony goes out of town the hot water heater decided to stop working. So it was pretty funny yesterday I had two big pots of water on the stove to heat them up just so the girls could take a bath. At least it will get me to the gym to work out just so I can take a shower there. =)

Germs and Everything has a place..

You are probably wondering about the title well let me start from the beginning.

So we tried to go home for two family birthdays and a Fish Fry but it was a no go. We drove up Friday day, hoping the virus that attacked my little one was over.....we were wrong. We took Anthony's dad out for lunch which Phoebe did pretty good. Then we tried to take Anthony's mom out for her birthday dinner and that is when things went from good to bad. Phoebe started getting sick again and was not happy. I don't blame her poor little thing. So needless to say I took my dinner to go. We stayed Friday night with Anthony's mom which worked out great because she was a great help. So it was midnight and Phoebe was up so I let her play in the playroom, his mom runs an at home daycare. I am sitting there talking to my mother-n-law when I notice my 22 month old do something that I had never seen her do before. She would get a toy out, play with it, and then immediately put it away back into its original place. She did this over and over again!! I could not believe it because that does not happen at my house. I asked my mother-n-law how in the world does she get her to do that and she just says oh I just tell them and they do it. Well you better believe that my objective this week it to get my kids to put everything back when they are done playing with if it kills me. I will post an update about that later and sorry I did not take any pictures to post. We drove home Saturday afternoon and we were all exhausted but glad to be home and Phoebe is doing just fine but now we are playing the waiting game to see who gets it next. In the meantime I have been cleaning trying to make sure that every surface in my house has been sanitized and organize every toy we own.

~Organizing Seasonal Clothes~

So it is that dreaded time of year, well for me anyway, to organize all the kids clothes, put away winter clothes, and bring out summer clothes. I buy those plastic containers with lids and tape a sign on the top that tells the age and season. I found this article and thought I would share....

Family Visit, Prom Night, & Soccer

Aunt Brittany was in town this weekend for training she had for work. She came by for a visit and to bring the girls a gift. They love their Aunt Brittany and a big thanks for the gifts.

We had, what I like to call, Prom night on Saturday. It really was a charity benefit for the children of China. It was a formal event so we got all gussied up. There was an 8 course meal, which was so delicious, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Our friends Grant and Emily went with us and we all had a blast. I look forward to going again next year.

Okay so we attempted soccer for the first time and boy was it dramatic for us all. Lula was so upset that she would not even get out on the field or stop crying. Phoebe was crying on the sideline just because Lula was crying. I did not think that soccer game was ever going to end. We had another game on Sunday but Lula did much better and actually got out on the field and played a little. She almost scored a goal but missed by inches. We are so proud of her!

Long Weekend Getaway!

So we had our annual cabin trip for 2009 in Black Mountain, NC without children. The Beards and Harper's went with us..... we all had a wonderful time and the cabin was great. We played games, hung out in the hot tub, and went out to dinner. A real treat without the kiddos. The girls took a day in Asheville for good food and shopping. We were even able to get pedicures, which is always nice. Thanks to all the grandparents for taking such wonderful care of the girls for us. I am already looking forward to next year!

A little note: When I called to check on the girls one day Lula got on the phone and informed me that Mamaw had been wiping and spanking her all day long and I could hear Anthony's mom in the background saying that she had not touched one hair on her head! Lula told me that she was being mean and that she had to get off the phone. I talked to Mamaw and apparently Lu was mad at her because she got on to her for being mean to her sister. Kids say the craziest things.

On our way home from the cabin trip we stopped by my grandparents house to do some visiting.

Phoebe got to feed a baby calf but Lula was scared of it. Both the girls go to ride the four wheeler too. We had a great visit but did not get home until almost 10 pm. Below is a video of Lula falling asleep with a book on her face.

BTW I know I change my blog often but there is so much out there and I get bored easily. I do it so much that I have gotten pretty fast at it. Amy I know that we were talking about the picture with a background and I figured it out so let me know if need any help. Praise to God for a safe trip and that all families were reunited safely. Thanks again guys for a wonderful relaxing time!!

What a Beautiful Weekend....

Here is a picture of the kids having a picnic during mommy group. The weather has been marvelous.
Anthony took Lula to Home Depot on Saturday to pick up some stuff and they happen to have their kids workshop. So Lula got an apron and to build a race track. She got to put stickers on it when she got home.
Daddy enjoying the weather while the girls played.
Here is a picture of the girls wearing their sunglasses. Lula's bible verse for the past week was "Love One Another" John 13:34. Since she learned it so well for the entire week she was rewarded with a small gift. Phoebe is offically off the paci and we are thrilled! Now if we can just get her potty trained?! =) We are so proud of them both!

Had to Share....

So I know I just updated but I had to post what Lula said today. We are trying to talk about God often to the girls and teaching them scripture. So I pick Lu up from school and we get on a conversation about God. She ask me if He looks like us? So I tell her that God is a Spirit, He is always around us, and does not have a fleshly body like hers and mine. When I said this I pointed to my chest and Lula looks at me very seriously and says "What God doesn't have boobies?" It was too cute and I just had to share. Here I am thinking what a deep question and so I was trying to really put it on a level she can understand but apparently I did a poor job of getting it across to her.

I also wanted to ask any of you who read the blog about a book called The Children's Catechism. Have any of you ever heard, read, or know someone who has used this with their children? I was thinking about trying it out.

Below I posted two pictures of the girls. Phoebe jumping off the furniture onto her daddy's lap, her favorite thing to do. In the pic she is mid-air.
Lula started back to gymnastics this week and loves it. She is on the balance beem with her coach in this pic.

Daddy cooking with the girls. They made a yummy cake!!

The girls and I were at a Mommy and me luncheon.

We tried to get the girls to take this picture with their cute little matching outfits but as you can see Phoebe was not cooperating. They insisted on having their balloons in the picture.

Girls having fun in the snow!

Phoebe Playing Dress Up and it is really sweet because anytime we are in the car she loves to wear her little sunglasses. I need to get a pick of her because it is too cute. Also a little side note Lula is going through a little rough stage right now just trying to get a little independence so needless to say she is spending a lot of time in time out and spankings. So one day Anthony went to spank her and she started yelling when he picked her up and she said"PLEASE, DADDY JUST HUG ME. DON'T SPANK ME." He and I started laughing so hard and he could not spank her. It definitely gave us a laugh.

Weekend!

We had a busy but fun weekend. Friday Anthony had the day off but it rained all day so it was pretty low key. Saturday I met with all the girls from Sunday school class for lunch and a movie. We saw Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was cute and we all had a great time. Saturday we had a date night and went to a Thrashers hockey game. It was fun and they won.

Here are some random pics of the girls. Lula is our little engineer/designer. She love her tinker toys and builds stuff all the time. Phoebe is our littel cow girl.

Our little Phoebe had been sick. In the picture she is about to fall asleep on the couch. She is still running a fever but is on the mend. She had been pitiful and I stayed home with her today while Anthony took Lula to church.
Let it SNOW!! It started snowing today about 11:30 and is beautiful. The snow flakes are huge but now it is starting to rain.
